This is the real me again. I've managed to pack Lloyd off to get himself a coffee so we can talk without interruption. I have to talk quietly though because this page concerns my second vampire novel (in final preparation) and Lloyd isn't in this one. I have no doubt he'll reappear in some subsequent story, but not yet. ''To Cure All Ills' is a more 'conventional' or 'traditional' vampire novel, depending on how you might equate those terms. No mystical stuff this time. This is far more a thriller WITH vampires, rather than a thriller ABOUT vampires. In this story an ordinary British policeman on vacation in New York, with no prior knowledge about the existence of vampires, finds himself caught up in the machinations of their underground existence within our everyday world. He has his blood stolen, is pursued by assassins in the pay of shadowy business corporations, and generally given a pretty hard time. But he also finds both romance and friendship with people who, if he believed all the stuff put out by Hollywood, he should be scared to death of. This is a novel about a race who want nothing more than to come out of hiding and use their amazing healing talents to help Mankind in general. But there are vested business interests who will stop at nothing to prevent that happening....
''To Cure All Ills'' with be released later this year.
